Policies and Procedures

Discovery Lodging wants your Olympic Getaway to be as carefree as possible, starting with your reservation. That's why we created this detailed policy statement. We highly recommend reading all of the following information to avoid any confusion or misunderstanding. If you have questions or if we can be of assistance in any way, please give us a call.

Your Vacation Rental
Heat, refrigerator, stove, microwave, toaster, coffee maker, washer and dryer,wood for wood stove or barbecue pit, basic pots and pans, dishes, flatware, utensils, telephone, Color TV, fire and smoke detectors, bed linens, pillows, towels, washcloths, bath mats along with a starter supply of bar soap, dish soap and paper goods to meet the homes maximum occupancy. Some household items - such as needle and thread, flashlight, candles, feminine hygiene products, etc. are left for your convenience. Feel free to use what is needed and leave the rest. Our place is non-smoking (meaning inside of the house.) Items that are NOT SUPPLIED typically include charcoal and gas (when needed), cribs, laundry soap, or any food item.

Rates

We offer seasonal rates that are intended to accommodate a specified number of people. Additional people will be charged at the rate of $20.00 - $50.00 daily, per person (to be arranged prior to your visit.) If additional people or pets are seen at the home , ( by the owners) the additional people will be charged out at that rate number for the entire visit. When this occurs, we will not take into consideration that some may have only stayed for certain nights or days.

Reservations
Reservations that bracket the two seasons will be pro-rated between the two rates. Christmas and New Years must be rented for at least a 7day stay. Thanksgiving requires a 4 night minimum stay. A $75.00 reservation fee is collected (to be taken off of total package price, at a later date.) We will hold reservations for five (5) days, pending payment. Reservation fee is non-refundable if cabin is not rented. A confirmation letter will be sent to you upon accepting to rent the cabin. It will include your rental dates, total price, and a combination to a lock-box which contains your entry key.

Payment and Cancellations
Fifty percent (50%) is charged to you ninety (90) days before your arrival. (The reservation fee is part of the 50%.) Cancellations from this time forward are subject to a fifty percent (50%) charge, due to difficulty in acquiring new guests. The remainder must be paid for by check or can automatically be charged to your credit card thirty (30) days prior to your arrival date. If cancellation occurs thereafter, there are no refunds or reschedules. For reservations made less than thirty (30) days prior to check-in, full payment must be made immediately by credit card or a next day mail service. Damage Deposit

A $500. damage deposit for large groups (10 or more) will be put on hold on your credit card. This deposit will be removed immedietely after finding the home in good standing after your departure. When a deposit is not taken for smaller groups, any damages will still be charged to the person who originally reserved the home. This deposit will also be used for excessive cleaning after

departure; please see list of expectations on refrigerator at the home. It states that dishes are to be done, beds stripped and garbage put into outside cans, barbecue cleaned and doggie "surprises" are picked up from the yard.

Trash Removal
All trash is removed at least every 5th day of your stay. Please do not allow outside containers to overflow due to bear, cougar and animal problems.

Maintenance
Everything possible is done to keep all equipment in good working order. However, it is impossible to guarantee that all appliances, hot tub, heaters, etc. will be in working order 100% of the time. We do guarantee to correct all deficiencies as soon as possible during normal business hours. There will be no refunds or adjustments for ANY maintenance problems. Report all maintenance problems to the office. Management reserves the right to perform scheduled exterior minor maintenance and/or emergency interior maintenance during your stay with or without notice to you, however, in the event maintenance must be performed we will do our best to do so without inconvenience to you.

Hot Tub-Sauna-Lake
It is important to note that there are certain health risks that are associated with the use of a hot-tub, spa, sauna and/or lake swimming. This warning statement is part of the lease agreement. It is the responsibility of the registered guest to inform anyone using these facilities during the term of the stay of the potential hazards. All hot-tubs are sanitized and replenished with chemicals prior to your arrival. Hot tub covers are for insulation purposes and are not designed to support a person. Do not stand or sit on hot tub covers, they will break and you will be charged for replacement. PLEASE, put hot tub cover back on after use.

Pet Policy
A minimum pet fee of $15.00 (daily, per pet) will be charged and guests are responsible financially for any and all damages. Although not common, cougars and wild animals have been spotted in the area. You may not want to leave animals unattended outside.

Upon Arrival
Check-in time is 4:00 PM or after, although it may be possible to drop off your things while we are still cleaning, with prior approval. To ensure that you will have access when you arrive, we will provide you with a combination to a lock box which contains your entry key. This lock-box is located beside or on the front door of the cabin. For ease of remembering, the lock-box number is generally the last four digits of your phone number, unless you request that it be different.

Large Groups and Receptions
Please be aware that the capacity of the home cannot exceed what the original agreement was. The number of people and pets staying must be agreed upon before arrival. Additional people found on the premises (during the day or evening) will be charged accordingly.

Check-out and Departure, 11:00 am or before.
We are sorry you have to leave at all, however, we must insist on a 11 AM check-out time. Please leave the cabin "broom clean" and in the same order as your arrival except for linens. All dishes and cookware must be washed and put away, garbage sealed in plastic bags provided and BBQ grill clean. Leave lights, television, and other appliances turned off. Leave all windows and doors locked. Pile linens, towels, etc. on the shower floor or in the bathtub. Sorry, we must insist on a prompt 11 am check-out, no exceptions, please.

Lost and Found
If you find you have left something behind, call our office and we will try to locate the missing item(s). Due to the number of left items we now need to charge $5.00 to return the item(s).

Television

At our Lake Sutherland and Recreation Home, Satellite TV is provided for your entertainment pleasure. Current movies can be rented through "Direct TV", provided that they are paid for. To rent movies, push the guide button on the remote control. Movie channels are located between 100-200. Follow directions on the TV screen. The cost of the movie is printed on the TV screen and we request that you leave payment at the time of your departure. We ask that you honor this policy, so that it remains possible in the future. A $10.00 additional charge (for each movie rented) will be posted to your credit card, otherwise.

We try our best to keep all info current on our web site. Changes of pricing, available dates and/or all info on this site may have changed and should be considered a guide.
